Applying to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
Foundation Program (ASASI UTM)
The UTM Foundation Programme is a one-year academic programme from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). It is offered by the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE). The UTM Foundation Programme is open to both Malaysians and international students.
UTM Diploma Program
Starting 1 June 2010, all diploma programmes are run by UTMSPACE, a dynamic faculty in UTM which has successfully managed programmes and professional courses according to market needs.
UTM International Degree Program (IDP)
Starting 1 June 2010, all diploma programmes are run by UTMSPACE, a dynamic faculty in UTM which has successfully managed programmes and professional courses according to market needs.
Malaysian Undergraduate
(Mainstream Programme)
Applicants from Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), Matriculation, ASASI/Foundation programme, GCE A-Level, SAT, ACT or equivalent, International Baccalaureate (IB) or equivalent, Australian Matriculation, Canadian Matriculation or equivalent or American Degree Programme (ADFP/ ACTP).
February Intake
Application must be apply via UTM Application system SMARt . The application is open from November until December.
September Intake
FOR STPM/ MATRICULATION/ ASASI/ DIPLOMA/ EQUIVALENT
Application must be apply via UPU Online from February until March. https://upu.mohe.gov.my/
September Intake
FOR FINAL YEAR UTM DIPLOMA/ FOUNDATION UTM/ FOUNDATION UTM-MARA
Application must be apply via UTM Application system SMARt . The application is open on March.
International Undergraduate
(Mainstream Programme)
Application must be apply via UTM Application system SMARt. The application is open from August until November for February intake and from March/April until June for September intake.
Postgraduate Application
Postgraduate student may apply when the application is open. Application received after the closing date will be offered for next registration.
Application for February intake is open from September to November (for international student) and from September to December (for local student).
Application for September intake is open from March/April until June (for international student) and from March/April to July (for local student).

Frequent Questions
May i apply for transfer credit from my previous university?
Yes. You may apply for transfer credit once you are registered at faculty. You need to submit your current transcript upon application. However, transfer credit is only eligible for Undergraduate programme only.
I am Undergraduate student. Can i apply for change of programme / university?
International student cannot apply due of Immigration Regulation. Malaysian student may apply after completed 1 semester of your study. You need to submit the complete application form together with the required documents to ugrad@utm.my
May i pursue Post - Doctorate programme in UTM?
I am Postgraduate student. How to defer study after receiving my offer letter?
You need to contact Recruitment Unit for deferment or replying acceptance email and choose defer your study.
