FOUNDATION/ASASI
MALAYSIAN | INTERNATIONAL
The Foundation Programme is a one (1) year academic programme from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). It is offered by the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE). It offers students a choice of pre-university education, other than matriculation, the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM), and other foundation programmes recognized by the Malaysian government.

Starting 1 June 2010, all diploma programmes are run by UTMSPACE, a dynamic faculty in UTM which has successfully managed programmes and professional courses according to market needs.

Applicants open for APEL A(T-6), DVM, Diploma, STPM, STAM, Matriculation and Foundation holder.
For February intake, the application is open from 1 December 2024 until 10 February 2025 and must be applied via SPACE UTM portal.

Frequent Questions
I am Postgraduate student. How to defer study after receiving my offer letter?
Once you’ve received your offer letter via email, you will see a “Defer” button included in the email. Kindly click on that button to officially submit your deferment request.
📌 No additional processing fee is required for your first deferment.
When the next intake approaches, you will receive a new offer letter (re-offer letter) for that semester. Please remember to accept the new offer letter in order to confirm your admission for the deferred intake.
⚠️ Important Note:
You are only allowed to defer once without any charge. If you wish to defer again after that, you may be required to submit a new application and pay the processing fee.
I am Undergraduate student. Can i apply for change of programme / university?
International student cannot apply due of Immigration Regulation. Malaysian student may apply after completed 1 semester of your study. You need to submit the complete application form together with the required documents to ugrad@utm.my
May i apply for transfer credit from my previous university?
Yes. You may apply for transfer credit once you are registered at faculty. You need to submit your current transcript upon application. However, transfer credit is only eligible for Undergraduate programme only.
