This program aims to produce professionals with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of computer and microelectronic systems technology. The program will also provide exposure in entrepreneurship and sustainability in technology and engineering to further contribute to the generation of talent and transformation leaders according to the current needs of the country.

After having been exposed to 3 to 5 years of working experience, our graduates should become professionals who demonstrate the following competencies:

PEO 1 To produce postgraduates with multidisciplinary knowledge needed for designing, integrating and optimizing solutions, central to modern computer and microelectronics systems.

PEO 2 To produce postgraduates who are able to generate new knowledge, idea and technique in computer and microelectronics systems.

PEO 3 To produce postgraduates who are able to function in R&D research team and innovative industrial ventures.

PEO 4 To produce postgraduates who are able to consistently perform their responsibilities ethically and professionally.

PLO1: Attain advanced knowledge on theories, methods and applications in computer and microelectronic systems.
PLO2: Able to demonstrate proficiency in relevant analytical methods, simulations, and/or experiments to perform research.
PLO3: Able to critically solve problems and apply engineering knowledge in design and development.
PLO4: Able to plan and perform research undertakings responsibly, professionally and ethically.
PLO5: Able to communicate, and express knowledge and ideas effectively.
PLO6: Able to continue life-long learning and apply technology for the betterment of humanity.

The admission requirements for students entering the Taught Course program are as follows:

i Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent recognized by the University Senate (accredited program by the EAC body) with a CGPA ≥ 2.50 / 4.00 or CGPA < 2.50 / 4.00 with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the relevant field; or ii Bachelor’s degree in Engineering other than Electrical Engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc.) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00 and 2 years of work experience in the field of electrical engineering; or iii Bachelor’s degree in Science (Physics) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00; or iv Bachelor’s degree in Science (Computer Science, Software, Information Technology) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00 and 2 years of work experience in the field of electrical engineering; or v Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (specifically in the field of electrical engineering) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00; or vi Other qualifications approved by the Faculty’s Academic Committee. Candidates who meet the requirements of (ii – vi) are required to take and pass the prerequisite courses determined by the Faculty with a minimum grade of (B-).

Graduates will be able to future-proof their engineering careers or become entrepreneurs in the electronics, and oil and gas industries
