The program is an advanced research degree which enables students to complete extensive and
independent transdisciplinary research thesis under the close supervision of supervisors. In pursuit of
excellence, the doctoral thesis set a specialization in the field of Fiqh, Science and Technology.
Students will be supervised by academic staffs throughout their candidature.
Under their guidance students will write and submit a thesis that represents a significant contribution
to the body of knowledge or understanding in the field of Fiqh, Science and Technology.

PEO 1 : Become consulting expert in the field of fiqh science and technology.

PEO 2 : Lead research by practicing critical thinking analysis for the development of fiqh science and technology in Malaysia in a creative and innovative way.

PEO 3 : Become pioneer in the field of fiqh science and technology consultancy to fulfill Malaysia’s aspiration to become the world’s halal hub.

PLO1: Demonstrate comprehensive, systematic, integrated, new, complex, and abstract idea of current critical issues in the most advanced frontiers of knowledge of a field of study, discipline, or practice in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO2: Critically analyze, evaluate and synthesize new, complex, and abstract ideas and current critical issues in the most advanced frontiers of knowledge of a field of study/discipline/practice and refine existing concepts and practices in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO3: Demonstrate mastery of practical, technical skills/practices and scientific skills which is at the forefront of one or more areas of specialization and to develop new complex skills or techniques and solutions to resolve new highly complex and emerging problems in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO4: Communicate research findings effectively to peers, scholarly communities, and society at large in the relevant field of expertise in fiqh, science, and technology
PLO5: Work to deal with different people in learning and working communities and other groups and networks, ethically and professionally in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO6: Use/select/improve existing or develop new appropriate tools/methodologies to support and enhance research activities in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO7: Undertake a critical evaluation of numerical and graphical data in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO8: Work with substantial autonomy, independence, and authority in the conduct and management of research and resources, which contribute to new knowledge, advanced practices, processes, and products in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO9: Integrate knowledge for lifelong learning with the development of new ideas, solutions, and systems in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO10: Initiate and lead entrepreneurial ventures and projects in fiqh, science, and technology.
PLO11: Demonstrate adherence to legal, professional, and ethically sound codes of practice in fiqh, science, and technology.

A Master degree with honours in a relevant field from UTM or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the UTM Senate; or
Other qualifications equivalent to a Master degree and experience in the relevant field recognized by the UTM Senate; or
Candidate who is currently registered in a Master degree programme at UTM, and approved by the Graduate Studies Committee of the respective faculty and the UTM Senate.

Requirement for international students

Students must have a valid two-year TOEFL certificate with PBT score of 600 or above (IBT/CBT equivalent) or IELTS Band 7.
