Master of Philosophy at Academy of Islamic Civilisation, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is a research-based postgraduate program that enables students to undertake independent and in-depth research under the close supervision of academic staff. The program typically takes between 1.5 to 4 years to complete, culminating in the submission of a thesis that contributes significantly to the field of Islamic studies. Students may explore a wide range of research areas including Islamic History and Civilisation, Aqidah and Islamic Thoughts, Da’wah and Leadership, Al-Quran and Hadith, Islamic Economics and Finance, Shariah and Law, Calligraphy and Islamic Arts, Manuscript Studies, Islamic Medicine and Therapy, Islamic Education, and Islamic Psychology and Psychotherapy.

1. A Bachelor degree with honours in a relevant field from UTM or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the UTM Senate; or
2. A qualification equivalent to a Bachelor degree and experience in the relevant field recognized by the UTM Senate.
Requirement for international students
Students must have a valid two-year TOEFL certificate with PBT score of 600 or above (IBT/CBT equivalent) or IELTS Band 7.
