Memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Muda dalam mana-mana bidang yang berkaitan bahasa dan komunikasi dengan kepujian daripada mana-mana institusi pengajian tinggi sama ada dari dalam atau luar negara yang diiktiraf oleh Senat Universiti.

Memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Muda dalam bidang yang lain daripada mana-mana institusi pengajian tinggi sama ada dari dalam atau luar negara yang diiktiraf oleh Senat Universiti dan mempunyai pengalaman di dalam bidang yang berkaitan bahasa dan komunikasi sekurang-kurangnya 5 tahun.

Atau

Membenarkan kemasukan pelajar tanpa latar belakang Bahasa dan Komunikasi, dan pelajar diwajibkan untuk menghadiri dua (2) kursus tambahan:

Kursus-kursus tambahan adalah merupakan kursus Hadir Wajib (HW). Pelajar digalakkan mengambil kursus pada semester pertama atau kedua tetapi diberi kelonggaran mengambil pada bila-bila masa sepanjang pengajian.

Syarat Kelayakan Bahasa Inggeris

Semua pelajar antarabangsa yang memohon ke program Pascasiswazah Universiti Teknologi Malaysia mesti mempunyai sijil:
1. TOEFL (TOEFL iBT/ TOEFL iBT HOME EDITION) 60,
2. IELTS Band 6.0,
3. MUET Band 4,
4. PTE 59 atau
5. Cambridge English Qualification (CEQ)/B1 Preliminary / B2 First (FCE)/C1 Advanced (CAE) / C2 Proficiency (CPE) 169
6. Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP – ELS) complete level 109 and above
7. Linguaskill Online (HANYA di bawah SASBADI) 169
