Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in various sectors including medical device companies, pharmaceutical companies, health institutions, research organisations and regulatory agencies.

The admission requirements for students entering the Taught Course program are as follows: i. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer) from UTM or any University recognized by the Senate with a CGPA≥ 2.50; or
ii. Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Medicine, Allied Health) from UTM or any university recognised by the Senate with a CGPA≥ 2.50; or
iii. Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from any university recognised by the Senate with a CGPA≥ 2.50;

Candidates do not have the following disabilities (color blindness/ physical disabilities) that make practical work difficult.

Graduates with a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering have diverse career opportunities in the medical device industry, healthcare and clinical engineering, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals and research and academia. They can also work in regulatory affairs, AI and biomedical data analysis and prosthetics & rehabilitation. Additionally, graduates may pursue entrepreneurship, launching startups in medical technology and healthcare innovation.
