The Bachelor of Science (Industrial Chemistry) with Honours (SSCCH) is a four-year full-time programme designed to produce graduates with strong theoretical foundations and applied competencies in chemistry, with emphasis on industrial applications. The programme covers core disciplines including organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, while integrating industrial chemistry subjects such as chemical process technology, materials chemistry, quality control, environmental management, and industrial safety. The curriculum combines lectures, intensive laboratory training, industrial placement, and a final-year research project to ensure students gain hands-on experience in chemical analysis, process optimization, instrumentation, and problem-solving within real industrial contexts. Recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM), the programme prepares graduates for careers in chemical manufacturing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, materials and polymer industries, environmental monitoring, quality assurance, and research and development, as well as for further postgraduate studies in chemistry and related fields.

The programme is offered on a full-time basis over four years (8 semesters) with a total of 129 credit hours. The curriculum is divided into:
Faculty Core: 3 credits
Programme Core: 74 credits
Programme Electives: 33 credits
Compulsory University Courses (General, Language, Entrepreneurship, Free Elective): 19 credits

The structure consists of:
Part A (Chemistry Courses – 107 credits, 83%)
Lectures (80 credits)
Laboratory courses (9 credits)
Industrial Training (12 credits)
Final Year Undergraduate Project (6 credits)

Part B (Related & University Courses – 22 credits, 17%)
Mathematics
Humanities & Language
Co-curriculum
Entrepreneurship
Free Elective

The PEO of the program is to produce graduates who are:
1. Knowledgeable, competent, efficient and responsive towards the challenges of chemical industries, social and environmental issues.
