The Master of Philosophy, Field: Computer Science (MECS) is offered on a full-time basis. The full-time programme is offered only at the UTM Main Campus in Johor Bahru. The duration of study for the full-time programme is subjected to the student’s entry qualifications and lasts between two (2) years to a maximum of four (4) years. The programme is offered on full-time basis and is based on a 2-Semester per academic session. This is a full research programme. The candidate is supervised by a lecturer. The directed research work introduces candidates to the process by which new knowledge is developed and applied accordingly. Assessment is done by examining first assessment reports (research proposal), each semester’s progress reports, and thesis examination (vivavoce).

This program is designed to provide advanced research based studies in Human Resource Development (HRD). It is aimed at developing understanding and to contribute to the expansion of new knowledge on the state of knowledge in the areas of HRD discipline through research activities. Students will be engaged in a significant research investigation of a specific inquiry resulting in the production of a thesis with either a theoretical or an applied focus. At the end of the program, students must submit a thesis on a topic which has been agreed upon by the faculty. The conferment of the degree is subject to the successful completion of the thesis and viva voce defense.

The program is an advanced research degree which enables students to complete extensive, independent research thesis under the close supervision of supervisors. The master thesis set a specialization in the field of Halal Science, which consist of sub-field in Halal Fiqh, Applied Halal and Halal Management.
