Master of Science (Engineering Design) program supports the ‘Creation of Lifelong Learning’ core by offering knowledge-boosting opportunities to graduates who are background in Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Science. The strengthening of the knowledge contained in this postgraduate program encompasses product design, mechanical systems and electrical systems that aims to produce expert graduates who can develop innovative solutions of a system or product by taking into account the benefits of the community and the preservation of the environment.
In addition to core courses, the program provides three elective fields; mechanical system design, product design and electronic system design. These three electives comprise the current engineering requirements. The program also offers methods, models and tools for designing mechanical products and designing industrial management systems. Technical, humanitarian and economic factors are also taken into account to strengthen the course outcomes. The rapidly growing microelectronic technology, regardless of the world’s economic climate, requires experienced engineers and knowledgeable technologists. Graduates acquired knowledge of integrating intelligent control systems and mechanical and electronic devices to produce innovative consumer products.
Career in product design requires the knowledge of producing products that meet the needs of the users, consumers and the community. The fast growing of product generation is now a priority. Candidates will be exposed to the processes and elements involved in the development of a product such as creativity impulse and management methods.

Master of Science (Systems Engineering) program is designed to combine rigorous and in-depth fundamentals of system engineering in which emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach between engineering, technology and ICT to fulfil the needs of industries. The program offers five sub-disciplines which are: General electives, Intelligence system, Industrial system, Communication system, and System for Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). The students will have the flexibility to select the specialization from these five sub-disciplines. Students of this program will be exposed to a variety of core and elective courses to provide students with the knowledge and skills to improve their skills in their careers. Besides, they also have the opportunity to continue their education to a higher level. The aim of this program is to train engineers and other professionals who can assist engineering and other organizations to excel by making them more competitive in the global arena by improving their effectiveness, productivity, quality and innovativeness.

Computer systems engineering includes the science and technology of design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of software and components modern computing system hardware, equipment computer control and smart device networks. A Master of Science programme in computer systems engineering is thus available, which integrates expertise in software engineering, computer engineering, and systems engineering. This program will produce graduates who can work in a career related to the field of propulsion technology. The Master of Science (Engineering Business Management) is an integrated programme that offers essential management and business skills as well as in technology and operations, and opportunities for further updating and enhancing knowledge in engineering. This programme focuses on the application of knowledge, hence participants may directly contribute in adding values to their employers specifically, and to the industry generally.
The MEBM program is implemented in modular mode, whereby modules are taken sequentially instead of concurrently as in the traditional master programme implementation. A total of 46 credits are required for graduation, comprising 12 taught modules of 3 credits each and a master project worth 10 credits. The duration of study is 1½ years for full-time and 2 years for part-time study. This programme aims to prepare working professionals in the engineering and other professions in engineering or technology based organizations working for transition into senior executive positions or engineering (or other professional) management roles and to prepare for life-long learning.

Student shall complete the program in minimum of 4 semester and maximum of 8 semester. Several subjects being delivered and assessed is implemented in each semester. Assessment is based on presentation, case study, test and project conducted throughout the semester and it is executed through the LMS platform of UTM.
