The Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) with Honours (SSCEH) is a 4-year full time undergraduate programme designed to produce graduates who will be mathematically competent professionals capable of applying their knowledge and skills in relevant agencies and institutions such as teaching, research and development of new knowledge, and will be proficient in both writing and oral communication in order to effectively disseminate mathematical knowledge. Graduates will have the skills and motivation to continue their life-long education in the acquisition of new mathematics knowledge and skills in depth and breadth.

The programme is offered on a full-time basis over four years (8 semesters), comprising a total of 129 credit hours. The curriculum is structured into the following components:
Faculty Core: 24 credits (18.6%)
Programme Core: 53 credits (41.1%)
Programme Electives: 33 credits (25.6%)
University General Courses (General Courses, Languages, Entrepreneurship, Free Electives): 19 credits (14.7%)

The overall structure of the programme is further organised into two main parts:

Part A: Mathematics Courses (110 credits, 85.3%)
This component forms the core disciplinary knowledge and technical training of the programme, consisting of:
Lectures: 92 credits (71.3%)
Industrial Training: 12 credits (9.3%)
Final Year Undergraduate Project: 6 credits (4.7%)

Part B: Related & University General Courses (19 credits, 14.7%)
This component supports the development of soft skills, communication abilities, and holistic education, including:
University General Courses: 8 credits (6.2%)
Languages: 6 credits (4.65%)
Co-curriculum: 2 credits (1.55%)
Free Elective: 3 credits (2.32%)

This balanced curriculum ensures that graduates acquire strong theoretical foundations, practical industrial exposure, and essential soft skills, enabling them to be competitive and adaptable in both professional and academic environments.

The PEO of the program is to produce graduates who are:
1. knowledgeable and competent in undertaking research and development activities in the field of mathematics.
2. Efficient and innovative, with distinctive leadership characteristics and adherence to ethical principles.
3. Responsible for the involvement and professional contribution towards social well-being.

PLO1 - Demonstrate advanced and comprehensive theoretical and technical knowledge, and relevant skills in mathematical and statistical disciplines.
PLO2 - Demonstrate intellectual independence, to manage and resolve complex problems with creative and innovative solutions, to a range of approaches in the field of mathematics and statistics.
PLO3 - Attest skills and knowledge to a range of approaches in the field of mathematics and the ability to review, make adjustments and supervise related practices and processes concerning fields of specialization.
PLO4 - Collaborate locally and globally with numerous people in diverse learning and working communities as well as other organizations.
PLO5 - Deliver ideas to a variety of audiences in both written or oral formats, using relevant and diverse modes of expression, effectively, correctly, and coherently in the required context.
PLO6 - Use a wide variety of digital information, media, and technology to complete related tasks.
PLO7 - Devise procedures on numerical and graphical information to make the right conclusions and decisions to manage and solve problems related to the field of mathematics.
PLO8 - Present leadership, autonomy, and expertise in coordinating and decision-making roles across large operational boundaries.
PLO9 - Effectively involved in self-directed lifelong learning and career paths.
PLO10 - Demonstrate an understanding of the entrepreneurship skill of chosen venture(s).
PLO11 - Demonstrate compliance and competency in identifying ethical problems, making ethical choices and conduct professionally on science, technology, and environmental concerns.

For Malaysian Students
General Entry Requirements
A pass with credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level, and
A pass in Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) with at least C grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Paper and C grade (CGPA 2.00) in any two of the taken subjects in the STPM, or
A pass in STAM Qualification for at least Jayyid level, or
A pass in Malaysian Matriculation Certificate / Foundation with minimum CGPA of 2.00, or
Hold A – Level / International Baccalaureate / Australian Matriculation (Ausmat) Certificate, or
Hold Diploma / Equivalent recognized by Malaysian government and approved by the University Senate or a pass in Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) with at least C Grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Paper and C Grade (CGPA 2.00) in any two of the taken subject in the STPM, or
Hold Diploma Vokasional recognized by Malaysian government and approved by the University Senate, or
Attained a minimum Band 2 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

General Entry Requirements
A Senior High School Certificate/Senior Secondary School/other equivalent pre-university qualifications from government schools (with a period of at least 12 years of study from primary to higher secondary). Refer to https://admission.utm.my/general-entry-requirement/ for further details.
Participate in the bridging program organized by the university, and
Attained a minimum Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)/ Band 5.5 in IELTS/ Score of 46 in TOEFL iBT.
