The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is designed to develop scholars with strong research capabilities in the field of civil engineeering. This programme is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and delivered in English through conventional mode of study.
Mode of Study: The course is offered in full-time mode.
Assessment Methods: Assessment is based on research reports, Doctor of Philosophy thesis, and oral presentations.

PLO 1 – Advanced Knowledge:
Synthesize, critique, apply, and extend in-depth relevant knowledge independently using innovative techniques, tools, and skills in the field of Civil Engineering as a basis for research to produce new ideas and solutions.
PLO 2 – Cognitive Skills:
Create new concepts, theories, solutions, or practices through independent research and originality that satisfies international standards within the field of Civil Engineering using the latest techniques, tools, and skills.
PLO 3 – Practical Skill:
Integrate highly advanced and specialized research methodologies and tools based on forefront knowledge and latest developments in the field of Civil Engineering to solve complex research problems with a reasonable degree of originality.
PLO 4 – Interpersonal Skills:
Demonstrate effective collaboration with peers, scholarly communities, and society at large in the relevant field of expertise and research.
PLO 5 – Communication Skills:
Effectively communicate knowledge, skills, ideas, and research findings using appropriate methods to peers, scholarly communities, and society through various mediums.
PLO 6 – Digital Skills:
Use, improve existing, or develop new appropriate tools or methodologies using a broad range of digital technology, media, and software to support and enhance research activities.
PLO 7 – Numeracy Skills:
Demonstrate skills in designing, critically evaluating, and analyzing numerical and graphical data using quantitative or qualitative tools to support and enhance research activities.
PLO 8 – Leadership, Autonomy & Responsibility:
Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and management skills, and take full responsibility for own work and significantly for others in the research organization.
PLO 9 – Personal Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to manage and enhance oneself and, where necessary, be accountable for the overall management of one’s research organization and professional development.
PLO 10 – Entrepreneurial Skills:
Develop the potential to commercialize research outputs.
PLO 11 – Ethics & Professional Skills:
Demonstrate adherence to legal and professional standards and contribute to the development of ethically sound codes of practice.
