All research students must enrol in Research Methodology (USCP 6013) and at least one of the University’s General Courses (subjected to courses offered in each semester listed in SPS website).

1. Synthesize, critique, apply, and extend in-depth relevant knowledge independently using innovative techniques, tools, and skills in the field of Physics as a basis for research to produce new ideas and solution.
Mensintesis, mengkritik, mengguna, dan memperluas pengetahuan yang berkaitan secara mendalam menggunakan teknik, alatan dan kemahiran inovatif dalam bidang Fizik sebagai asas penyelidikan untuk menghasilkan idea dan penyelesaian baharu.
2. Create new concept/theories/solutions/practice through independent research and originality that satisfies international standards within the field of Physics using the latest techniques, tools, and skills.
Mencipta konsep/teori/penyelesaian/amalan baharu melalui penyelidikan bebas dan keaslian yang memenuhi piawai antarabangsa dalam bidang Fizik menggunakan teknik, alatan, dan kemahiran terkini.
3. Integrate highly advanced and specialized research methodologies based on the forefront knowledge and latest development in the field of Physics to solve complex research problems with reasonable degree of originality.
Mengintegrasi metodologi penyelidikan yang maju dan khusus berdasarkan pengetahuan terkehadapan dan perkembangan terkini dalam bidang Fizik untuk menyelesaikan masalah penyelidikan yang kompleks dengan dengan darjah keaslian yang bersesuaian.
4. Demonstrate decent collaboration with peers, scholarly communities and society at large in the relevant field of expertise and research.
Mempamerkan kerjasama yang baik dengan rakan sebaya, komuniti ilmiah dan masyarakat umum dalam bidang kepakaran dan penyelidikan yang berkaitan.
5. Communicate effectively the knowledge, skills, ideas and research findings using appropriate methods to peers, scholarly communities, and societies through various medium.
Menyampaikan pengetahuan, kemahiran, idea dan hasil penyelidikan dengan berkesan menggunakan kaedah yang sesuai kepada rakan sebaya, komuniti ilmiah, dan masyarakat melalui pelbagai medium.
6. Use, improve existing or develop new appropriate tools or methodologies using a broad range of digital technology, media and software to support and enhance research activities.
Menggunakan, memperbaiki atau membangunkan alatan atau metodologi baharu yang sesuai dengan menggunakan pelbagai teknologi digital, media dan perisian untuk menyokong dan meningkatkan aktiviti penyelidikan.
7. Demonstrate skills in designing, critical evaluation, and analysing numerical and graphical data using quantitative or qualitative tools to support and enhance research activities.
Menunjukkan kemahiran dalam mereka bentuk, menjalankan penilaian kritikal, serta menganalisis data berangka dan bergrafik menggunakan alat kuantitatif atau kualitatif dalam menyokong dan meningkatkan aktiviti penyelidikan.
8. Demonstrate leadership, professionalism and management skills, and take full responsibility for own work, and significantly for others in the research organization.
Menunjukkan kepemimpinan, profesionalisme dan kemahiran pengurusan, serta bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya terhadap kerja sendiri, dan secara signifikan untuk orang lain dalam organisasi penyelidikan.
9. Demonstrate the ability to manage and enhance own self- and if necessary, can be accountable for overall management of one’s research organization and professional development.
Mempamerkan keupayaan untuk mengurus dan meningkatkan kemajuan diri dan jika perlu mampu bertanggungjawab untuk menguruskan keseluruhan organisasi penyelidikan dan pengembangan profesional seseorang.
10. Develop potential commercialisation research output.
Membangunkan hasil penyelidikan yang berpotensi untuk dikomersialkan.
11. Demonstrate adherence to legal, professional and contribute to the development of ethical sound codes of practice.
Mempamerkan tingkahlaku yang mematuhi kepatuhan kepada undang-undang, profesional dan menyumbang dalam pembangunan kod dan amalan etika yang sihat.
i Master's degree (MQF Level 7) in the relevant field or a related field as approved by the PPT
Senate; or
ii. Other qualifications recognized as equivalent to a Master's degree (MQF Level 7) by the
Government of Malaysia.
iii. Candidates with qualifications not in a related field or without work experience in the
relevant field are required to take prerequisite courses as determined by PPT.
University lecturers.
Research Scientist at institutes like MIMOS or private R&D labs.
R&D Manager in high-tech industries, overseeing teams in semiconductors, optics, or renewable energy technologies.
Scientific Consultant for government agencies or firms, advising on materials characterization and simulations.
Postdoctoral Researcher at global universities, bridging to faculty positions or specialized industry roles.
