The aim of Master of Civil Engineering program offered at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is to fortifyopportunity for students to develop their knowledge and skills in solving multi disciplinary problem in civilengineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics and hydrology, transportation and highway, environmentalengineering and construction management. Students are also trained in conducting research project in anyfield in civil engineering

A student must complete 40 credit hours for graduation. The course consists of:
University general elective courses (3 credits)
Core courses (21 credits),
Elective courses (6 credits),
Master project (10 credits).

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degress inCivil Engineering or its equivalent recognizedby the University Senate; and
Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree orits equivalent with aminimum CGPA of 2.50; or
Candidate who hold a Bachelor’s Degree or itsequivalent with a CGPA of at least 2.00/4.00 but not achieving a CGPA of 2.50/4.00 must havefive (5) years of work experience in a relevantfield.

Graduates of the programme obtain advanced civil engineering knowledge to assist their works in various field of Civil Engineering, e.g. project and construction, hydraulic and hydrology, environment, highway and transportation, structural engineering, etc.
