The Master of Project Management (MPM) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is designed to equip professionals with advanced project management skills applicable across various industries. Offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the program blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications to prepare graduates for leadership roles in project management. The program structure spans 1.5 years (3 semesters) with a total of 40 credits, delivered through blended learning. The curriculum includes University General Courses (3 credits), Core Courses (15 credits), and Elective Courses (12 credits), Master’s Pre Project and Master Project (10 credits). Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and meet UTM’s admission requirements. The program is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), ensuring it meets national higher education standards.

The Master in Project Management is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and strategic insights necessary for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects across various industries. The program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, enabling graduates to lead teams, manage resources efficiently, mitigate risks, and successfully deliver projects. Additionally, emphasis is often placed on developing leadership and communication skills, fostering adaptability in dynamic project environments, and preparing individuals for roles of increased responsibility in project-oriented settings.

The admission requirements for the Master of Project Management program are as follows:
i) A Bachelor’s degree in a science and technology-related field or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate; AND
ii) A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00; OR
iii) A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 but not reaching 2.50/4.00, with at least five (5) years of work experience in a relevant field.
