APEL A<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) is an alternative pathway that enables individuals with relevant working experience and prior learning to gain admission into higher education programmes without following the conventional academic entry route.<\/p>\n

The APEL.A process at UTM is coordinated through the UTM APEL Centre in accordance with the guidelines and standards established by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). <\/strong><\/p>\n

APEL A (T-4) is an entry route for applicants with working experience but lacking formal academic qualifications (like SPM), but have obtained an APEL certificate that allows them to pursue a Diploma’s Degree.<\/p>\n

              Candidates who intend to apply through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) pathway are first required to register through the official APEL portal managed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency<\/span> (MQA). Upon successful registration, candidates will then proceed with the application process at the UTM APEL Centre.<\/p>\n

              At the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia<\/span> APEL Centre, candidates will undergo a screening process to determine their eligibility based on the APEL.A requirements stipulated in the Guidelines to Good Practices (GGP): APEL issued by MQA. The screening process includes verification of the candidate\u2019s age requirement, academic qualifications, relevant working experience, and suitability for the intended programme of study.<\/p>\n

              The APEL.A assessment process at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia consists of several assessment components depending on the level and mode of study applied for. The assessments include:<\/p>\n

              • Aptitude Test<\/strong>
                Applicable for T-4 (Diploma), T-6 (Bachelor Degree), and T-7 (Master\u2019s Degree) for Coursework and Mixed Mode programmes. The aptitude test is conducted to assess candidates\u2019 general knowledge, cognitive ability, and readiness for higher education study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                  \n
                • Portfolio Assessment<\/strong>
                  Candidates are required to prepare and submit a portfolio containing evidence of prior experiential learning, professional achievements, work experience, certifications, training, and competencies related to the intended field of study.<\/li>\n
                • Interview Session<\/strong>
                  Applicable for T-7 and T-8 candidates. The interview session is conducted by appointed assessors to evaluate candidates\u2019 knowledge, professional experience, communication skills, and suitability for the intended programme.<\/li>\n
                • Research Intent Assessment<\/strong>
                  Applicable for T-7 by Research and all T-8 programmes. Candidates are required to submit and present a research intent proposal to demonstrate their research capability, area of interest, and readiness to undertake postgraduate research studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  APEL.A candidates are required to pass all assessment components determined for their respective level and mode of study.
