General University Requirements:
\nMust meet the minimum qualification:
\na) A Master\u2019s Degree in a relevant field accepted by the University Senate; or
\nb) Any other qualification equivalent to a Master\u2019s Degree recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
\nc) Candidates without relevant academic qualifications or work experience in the related field must undergo prerequisite courses as determined by the Faculty\/School. If the candidate has completed prerequisite courses through:
\ni. Micro-credentials; or
\nii. MOOCs; or
\niii. Elective courses taken during undergraduate or master\u2019s studies, proof of course completion may be submitted to UTM for enrollment purposes.
\nFaculty-Specific Requirements:
\nNone
\nEnglish Language Requirements (for International Students):
\nInternational students who wish to pursue a postgraduate program at UTM must meet the following English language competency requirements:
\na) IELTS: Minimum Band 6.0 and above; or
\nb) TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 60 and above; or
\nc) Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ): B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), or Linguaskill with a minimum score of 169; or
\nd) PTE Academic: Minimum score of 59 and above; or
\ne) Malaysian University English Test (MUET): Minimum Band 4 and above; or
\nf) ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP): Minimum Level 108 and above; or
\ng) Any other examinations aligned with The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) with a minimum score of B2.
\nExemptions for English Language requirements may be granted to international students who come from countries where English is the official language of instruction; or hold academic qualifications from institutions where English is the official language of instruction.
\nFor students who do not meet the english language requirements, students may enroll in an Intensive English Programme (IEP) at UTM\u2019s Language Academy or CIEP at any ELS Language Centre for up to one year from the date of registration. Upon completion of the course, students must sit for an exam aligned with CEFR and obtain a minimum score of B2 to be accepted into UTM\u2019s academic programs.International students who do not meet the English language competency requirements may be considered for a conditional offer, as follows:
