General University Requirements:
\nThe admission requirements for the Master of Engineering (Environmental Management) program are as follows:<\/p>\n
i) A Bachelor\u2019s degree in a science and technology-related field or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate; AND<\/p>\n
ii) A Bachelor\u2019s degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50\/4.00; OR<\/p>\n
iii) A Bachelor\u2019s degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00\/4.00 but less than 2.50\/4.00, must have five (5) years of work experience in a relevant field.<\/p>\n
English Language Competency Requirements for Postgraduate Students
\n a) Local Students
\n English language competency requirements are not mandatory.<\/p>\n
b) International Students
\n International students who wish to pursue postgraduate programs at UTM must meet the following English language competency requirements:<\/p>\n
i) Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with a minimum score of Band 4.0 or higher; OR
\n ii) IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6.0 or higher; OR
\n iii) TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 60 or higher; OR
\n iv) Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) \u2013 B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE) with a minimum score of 168 or higher; OR
\n v) Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with a minimum score of 59 or higher; OR
\n vi) Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) Level with a minimum score of 109 or higher.<\/p>\n
Exemptions from the English language requirement may be granted to international students who:<\/p>\n
Are from countries where English is the official language, OR
\n Have obtained academic qualifications from institutions that use English as the medium of instruction and plan to further their studies in Malaysia.
\n International students who do not meet the above requirements may enroll in the Intensive English Programme (IEP) at UTM’s Language Academy or the Certified Intensive English Program (CIEP) at any ELS Language Center in Malaysia for a maximum period of one year from the date of registration.<\/p>\n
Upon completion, students must take the MUET or any of the exams listed in sections (i) to (v) to qualify for admission into their main academic program at UTM.<\/p>\n
Prerequisite Courses
\n No prerequisite courses are required for applicants who do not meet the specified criteria.<\/p>\n
Admission Requirements via APEL (T-7)
\n This program accepts applicants with a Recognition of Prior Learning Accreditation (APEL) certificate for admission into the Master\u2019s Degree program (APEL T-7) in Environmental Management.<\/p>\n
Admission Requirements for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
\n This program accepts applicants from the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, provided that:
