Ambassadorial Scholarship

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is proud to offering the Ambassadorial Scholarship worth up USD 9,000 for international applicants applying for February and September intake.  The Ambassadorial Scholarship is intended to recognise and provide financial support for outstanding student who wish to act as ambassadors for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia upon the graduation. 


Scholarship Eligibility

Students are eligible to apply for UTM Ambassadorial Scholarship if they have been offered a place to study on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)

UTM Ambassadorial Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to be an excellent international student ambassador

Exceptional candidates who have a proven academic and achievement record and who will make a major contribution to our university and to the wider global community


Documentation you need to apply

As well as completing the Scholarship application form, you will need to provide the following supporting documentation 

  • A copy of the letter/email from UTM confirming your offer of a place on your chosen course.
  • An official copy of your transcript from your most recent/current academic study

As an International ambassador

As an ambassador for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), your fundamental role will be to help prospective students learn more about UTM. Ambassadors may be requested to participate in a number of ways, depending on their particular set of skills/capabilities and preferences.

Tours of campus

International Student Ambassadors give tours of campus to prospective applicants, agents, and other partners, showing all the facilities that the University has to offer

Participating in new student orientations

Assisting with welcome activities for new international students in February and September

Assistance at recruitment events

Helping with university recruitment activities, including open days, school visits and registration days

Active Representative

As an ambassador you will be an active UTM representative. You will be expected to participate in current and future promotional activities, University’s events and supporting events. You are required to contribution on promotional materials (such as programme brochures, website profiles, videos or media articles) by attending photo shoots, film shoots or providing written content such as quotes and completed questionnaires.
